But if you ask me……Not so much. If your looking for a good female vocalist in the same sort of style, I recommend Norah Jones or Madeleine Peyroux. Don’t waste your money here, you’ll buy it, listen to it for a couple weeks and then it will collect dust on your shelf.

Perhaps there are too many levels of irony present here and I’m not able to pierce them. Perhaps my problem is that album is my introduction to She & Him, but I can assure you that I won’t be purchasing Volume One.
As noted in reviews I’ve read on other sites, the album seems in places like a rehash of 60’s country. Zooey Deschanel’s voice is lacking in character and strength to me, and seems downright off pitch in the opener.
More than anything, this album simply wasn’t my cup of tea.

I love She & Him. I saw them at the Newport Folk Festival; they were awesome. I love M.Ward anyway so when he came out with She& Him; I just had to have it. I also have their first album, that’s terrific too!!

I love this CD. On the vocal side Zooey Deschanel sounds like a cross between the lighter side of Debbie Harry of Blondie and Karen Carpenter. To me a good record is one you can still hear in your head after the recording stops.

I love these guys. I still haven’t been lucky enough to see them live, but I get to soon. My kids fell for Vol I too, and we walk around the house singing it. It’s so catchy and fun. I am excited for this album. Have heard much of it. I am downloading it from Amazon now, and just ordered the CD. They are just perfect. If you liked Volume 1, you will like this.
