not sure if you need the cd in drive, but doubt it.

the download has dropped gamepad directional control (menu+puzzles only) mysteriously. and that added fun. but you can’t beat the convenience.

I downloaded what i thought was a full version of the game but when I finished reading the manual and started it up the first time I noticed the options for multiplayer were missing. I was not sure why so I contacted the developer and have yet to receive a response.

This is a great game. I own a copy for the DS but wanted to see how it differed on the PC. From what I can tell it is not any different.

If you enjoy puzzle games and role playing games then this is a good fit for your collection. It offers immersion but accessible game play. I have no problems playing a half hour and then putting it down again. The story is not lengthy but it is interesting and entertaining enough to have pulled me all the way to the end.

The game has a few different puzzle modes that lead to a variability during play that helps keep you interested and makes sure you are not just fighting the next big monster.

If the option for multiplayer was there I would have rated this game higher. I accept the fact that this may be some kind of oversight on my part though and do not blame Amazon or the manufacturer for my own inability to figure out why it is missing. I just figured I bought the wrong version or something, after all it was less than $10 and it is more than worth that.

Puzzle Quest is a lot of fun for a little price. I played it for days without getting bored or losing interest. The dramatic stories, both the main story and the substories, were very well written and interesting. The match 3 battles required real strategy akin to that needed when playing chess, and I loved that.

As a plus, you have the option of capturing some creatures, either to use as mounts or to learn their spells. Those encounters were probably my most favorite, because they were in the form of match 3 puzzles with the object of completely clearing the board of jewels in order to win. Some of those boards were almost impossible for me to figure out when trying to capture the more powerful creatures… (I almost gave up on capturing a harpy, the combinations needed to clear the jewels were so complex).

As you play, your character “levels up”, gaining gold and experience from each encounter and/or quest. You start with a citadel in the main city, which you can upgrade. As you upgrade it, more options become available to you: to raise your skills, research new spells, craft magical items and train your mounts. After certain upgrades, you become capable of capturing other cities and adding them to your kingdom, making it possible for you to access your citadel from other areas of the map.

This is a game that’s definitely worth playing again and again. If you love strategy games like chess, as well as great logic puzzles, all wrapped in an interesting D&D-type adventure, then you’ll love Puzzle Quest.

If you like casual games you will love this game. It’s somewhat like Jewel Quest but with a twist. Well, several twists. The puzzles mostly look the same but the goals are different and it makes it fun and challenging. I love that I can walk away from the computer and not worry about what’s happening in my absence. The computer patiently waits for my return. I have a download version and it appears to have the option for multi-player gameplay, but that would take the “casual” out of it so I’ve never tested it.

I’ve had this game for a long time and I keep going back to it. I’ve never finished one character, and there are several (at least four) to choose from. It’s well worth the money!

This is a fun and simple game. A great introduction to RPG for someone who is not familiar with them. There is a problem with this download however. The CD versions support multiplayer, this downloadable version does not. Get the CD!
